To the Commodore and Members of False Bay Yacht Club

Beatie and Ken
Ken and Beatie thank you bottle
Thank you for gifting us with a club burgee on Friday night. We feel honoured and hope to make the club proud by flying it in exotic destinations.

May we use this opportunity to thank the members of this club:
Ten years ago, when we embarked on our dream of buying an “older boat” and “doing her up to go cruising”, you were there right from the start with advice, help, training and much encouragement. We have made many friends in the process - FBYC became our sailing home. Thank you for welcoming us and making us one of your own.

Just as some of the members inspired us to press on and not let go of our dream, so too our hope is that we have inspired others not to give up, but to go after what you desire.

We plan to one day return to our sailing home. In the meantime we will be thinking of you - every time we raise the burgee.

With thanks and kind regards
Ken and Beatie Nelson

Irish burgee hand over
On Friday evening our commodore Anthony Wentworth welcomed Irish visitors, Venetia (Hill) and Michael Ryan, guests of Andrew Mackenzie's from Royal Irish Yacht Club,
Dun Laoghaire, (Dun Leary) Dublin, to FBYC, during their welcome an exchange of burgees was made.

(A HOME IN THE HARBOUR SINCE 1831 - Being a member of the Royal Irish Yacht Club means being at the heart of a community that has a ‘home in the harbour’.)

Gordon's Bay Crossing

After about 3 years of not being access into GBYC marina during the Cycle Tour weekend we were finally given the wave over as the dredging has been completed and boats can now enter GBYC harbour. However the wind god's decided it was not yet time to cross over, resulting in the race being blown out with winds reaching the upper limits of 40 knots.
