INTASURE SPRING REGATTA 2018

Here is a round up of what you missed this weekend or maybe a recap of what you experienced if you were here.

Our aim for the regatta this year was reducing, reusing, recycling as well as being aware of our carbon foot print.

Boat bags were kitted out with reusable water bottles and water stations were placed around the club for quick easy access to refill. Neptune's Galley did a great job with their lunch packs and takeaways being packaged in paper bags.

On shore, there was live music on Saturday evening by The Van Der Mentals which had the crowd singing and dancing the night away. Sunday we were entertained by DJ Beaumont who also got the crowd up and dancing till early hours of the morning. Monday we had a Franshhoek Wine Cellars tasting and DJ Beaumont, keeping the shore crew and families busy while they waited for Prize Giving.

A massive big thank you to all our sponsors who helped make this regatta the success it was, as well as to the volunteers who gave of their time to run such a successful event.

PADDLERS

A reminder for the kayakers & surfskiers -

Social moment at Cape Point
Please could we remind you to sign out at the main security gate before you leave the FBYC slipway(s) - see the notice below in the kayak storage area. (this is very convenient for you as the security people will also keep your car keys safely for you while you are on the water)

Signing out is a club regulation (for all members) and it also lets us know how many times you paddle in any one year. Because of the demand for rack space at FBYC , we would like to ensure that regular paddlers are not disadvantaged in any way.

The last reminder! To keep your rack space, in FBYC's current financial year (Jul 2018 - Jun 2019), it must be recorded at the security gate that you have paddled a minimum of 8 times
