YOUTH SAIL TRAINING

The wind was light for sail training this weekend, students went out in hope that the breeze would fill in and that they could learn to fly spinnaker, unfortunately it only started to fill in after they got back to the dock. They did however learn about sail settings and how to rig the spinnaker.

MBR2018 Communique #1:

Moments after opening up the entries for MBR 2018, the entries started coming in.
It is pleasing to note that a lot of previous entrants are back again or are indicating they will be, with a band of regulars starting to establish themselves.
So far, we have entrants from FBYC, RCYC, POYC and even St Francis Bay. Let’s see what other clubs will be represented.

THE GOVERNOR’S CUP

We have been in communication with St Helena Yacht Club and St Helena Tourism regarding the organisation and promotion of this event.
St Helena Tourism advertised the race to take place in December 2018 and later called for interest from SA clubs wishing to partner with Tourism/SHYC in organising and promoting the race.
We have now been informed by SHYC that a decision has been made not to rush the event and they have plans to run it next year.
We will provide further detail as and when it comes to hand.

You are most welcome to contact Billy Leisegang, bleisegang@yahoo.com, 021 782 2978, 078 189 8964 for further information
