LEARN UP TEACHER RESOURCE

Learn up Presentation -
False Bay Yacht Club sponsored a pack for this presentation. The LEARN UP Teacher Resource packs are sponsored by local businesses and distributed to the teachers at the schools in their area. The aim of the initiative is to assist the teachers to promote reading, entrepreneurship, science and environmental awareness amongst learners during their “contact time” periods.

DIVE FESTIVAL

Dive Festival 3 -
The Dive Festival was a great success.

Andrew van Zyl from Yacht Boaz gave us a bit of feed back of the experience at the Dive Festival.

"We had a great weekend meeting with the attendees of the Dive Festival and introducing them to Boaz. The afternoons had a fairly steady flow of people interested. It was great for us to interact with people of all levels of plastic pollution awareness."

KAYAKING, PADDLING & ROWING

IMG_0037

'First Saturday of the Month' paddle for Kayakers - 5th May, 10am on the water!

You must be a member of FBYC, must have your own kayak, a life jacket and preferably have a safe place to keep your cell phone.

NAVIGATION WARNINGS

No navigation warnings were received this morning, but please check the Safety at Sea notice board, next to the men and ladies' toilets - Red Light will be on if there are Navigation Warnings for the day.

SAILING

Social Networking Sailors -

Sailing Report

Wed 25 Apr - Autumn Twilight Series Race 8 of 10. The appeal of the bar, fire and good company was far fairer than venturing out into the cold, wet windy weather for a race.

Admirals Regatta

Congratulations to Andrew Mackenzie and crew who represented FBYC at the HBYC Admirals Regatta 28/29 April on your 1st place in the PHRF Division.

A few word from Andrew "I managed to borrow back Water Music now based in Hout Bay for the Admiral’s Regatta. We ended up with a rather pleasing result in the Medium Distance PHRF division - after recalculation of the results when the originally announced winner retired from one race for not rounding one of the marks.
Crew: Greg Short, Peter Isted, Mike Brownie (Saturday) and Richard Sissons (Sunday)."
