CLUB REMINDERS & NOTICES

WATER ON THE MARINA

Members please note that as the City of Cape Town has implemented level 3 water restrictions, the water on the marina will be switched on full time with effect from 1 May 2019.

This will be done for a trial period of one month. Usage will be monitored and the restriction of washing vessels with buckets only will still apply. Outboard engines may be flushed with use of a hose pipe for a maximum of 2 minutes only.

WHAT YOU MISSED

BRASS BELL EASTER REGATTA, a great success with 18 entries.

Saturday saw 18 boats start the first race, but were general recalled over the line. A restart gave the photographers a great show as the fleet lined up again for the start. The second start was much slower as the forecast breeze started to die down. Unfortunately only two boats managed sail to whittle rock and back to finish the race as the wind died down forcing most to retire and head home.

Sunday saw the other side of the weather with strong breeze blowing most of our sailors away from the club and starting line, however 8 started and had a great sail out in the bay to Seal Island.

The prize giving was held at the Brass Bell and a fantastic evening was had by all. A huge thank you to our sponsor The Brass Bell Restaurant for the fantastic prizes, snacks, music and venue for our prize giving.
