IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS

Clubhouse and Restaurant under Lock Down:

Whilst our efforts to re-open our aquatic activities have been successful, please note:


    • The clubhouse and facilities, i.e. bar, restaurant, braai/grass area remain closed until Level 2 lock down, but this will be determined by the COVID Command Council. Bar Off Consumption Sales at the Club have ceased with immediate effect.
    • The Admin office is open until 15h00 on weekdays and until 13h00 on weekends.
    • Neptune’s Galley officially closed at the end of April and will remain closed until a new owner is on board and once the clubhouse re-opens.
    We look forward to seeing our members again!

    FBYC Access Control Under COVID-19 Regulations


    Dear fellow Club Member,

    Whilst the clubhouse and its facilities will have to remain closed until Lockdown Level 2 is reached, you may still enter the club premises to access your vessel, under the following regulations:

    • Please display your membership access card on entry.
    • Your temperature will be taken by a Customer Service Officer each time you enter the premises.
    • All members/staff/workers are required to fill in a register at the gate each time they enter the premises.
    • A mask must be worn at all times whilst on club/marina premises. This is in accordance with the latest level 3 regulations from the President’s Office.
    • Please use the hand sanitizer at the entrance.
    • Social distancing of 1.5m must be kept whilst waiting at the entrance and on club/marina premises.
    Please carry your access card with you at all times. If you require a replacement card, please email Yvonne admin@fbyc.co.za or call the office 021 786 1703. The front office is open from 08h30 to 15h00 on weekdays and from 09h00 to 13h00 on weekends and public holidays.

    YOU ARE ALLOWED TO GO OUT AN SAIL IF: you are a club member and have a valid Course completion: SA Sailing Return to Play Authorisation. There will be no racing till 01 August 2020.
    Annexure H: Requirements to SA Sailing registered athletes

    • In the Instances of Non-Compliance: Individuals

    Minister gives Green Light for Return to Sailing!

    The Minister of Sport has given the go ahead to SA Sailing that we can get out on the water again. We are hoping to receive a Compliance Certificate from SAS soon, once we have this you will be allowed to sail.

    The following points must to be complied with
    Before you go sailing:
    • Have a valid COF
    • SAS membership must be up to date
    Arriving at the club:
    • Wear your mask or buff
    • Temperature and contact details will be taken at the entrance gate
    • Social distancing and sanitising to be complied with
    Before you go on the water:
    • Collect your Tracing Register form from the CSO
    • Maintain the Tracing Register for your crew for each sail

    Dear Members

    As of 11am we have received formal release for the return to Sailing from the Minister of Sport. This has can only be done under strict COVID requirements.

    Clubs and venues are in the process of submiiting the necessary in this regard in order to be able to receive thier required commencement certificates, as per regulations that have been gazetted, and procedures set out by the Department of sport.

    SA Sailing is working hard to get these turned around as quickly as possible. Clubs will only be approved on confirmation that they are meeting all the necessary requirements.

    Please check directly with your clubs to see if they are approved before you attempt to go sailing.

    For you the sailor: only Registered paid up SA Sailing members can return to practicing/training
    The following action is required on your part.
    • Update your SA Sailing member profile. My SA Sailing Login
    • Must include all information, esp. the contact details and next of kin information (from same household)
    • Click and complete the form SA Sailing Athlete Status Confirmation which covers screening and allows for further contact information for same households to be collected
    • Click and accept understanding of the code of conduct and the requirements that are required.
    • On review and confirmation that all details are updated on profiles and screening requirements, an email will be sent for you to keep with you as proof and permission to participate in sailing.
    We thank you for your patience and ask that you abide fully to the requirements as put in place at your clubs and by the Sports regulations as gazetted. Please keep in mind that responsibility lays with each of us to ensure that we as a community remain compliant and are active in being part of the solution.

    The right to participate in our sport, and to remain being allowed to do so, is depended on our responsible compliance and actively working toward preventing an out break within our community.

    RENEW/REGISTER my SA Sailing membership. Please note that acceptance of these applications will only be on confirmation and receipt of payment from your club.

    If your membership status is ACTIVE but your log in is not working you may be using the old log in details from old mySASID system.

    Click on Forgot login details and type your email address in the space provided and click on submit to receive your login details via email. Please check your spam folder for the email.

    We may not have your current email address on file. In this case please submit the below form and we can update your information and send you your new login details.
