NAVIGATION & WEATHER WARNINGS

NAVIGATION WARNING

The SA Naval Museum will conduct a single 9-inch Rifled Muzzle-Loading (RML) gun firing on Thursday, 18 July 2019 at 12h00 to celebrate Mandela Day. The firing will be conducted at Middle North Battery in Simon's Town.

Pet owners are advised to take precautions.

No weather warnings were received this morning, but please check the Safety at Sea notice board, next to the bathrooms - Red Light will be on if there are further Navigation and Weather Warnings for the day.

SPECIAL AGM NOTICE

FBYC Members are hereby notified that the 61st Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday 22nd August 2019 at 18h30 in the Crow’s Nest.

Please note that nominations are open should you wish to formally nominate any Members for the General Committee for 2019/2020.

2019/2020 MEMBERSHIP FEES

Remember the early payment option for EFT only is still available if you pay before 22 July 2019.

Once you have paid your membership fees, please collect your 2019/2020 sticker from Yvonne at Reception, and stick it onto the back of your membership card. If you live out of town or are away for an extended period, please collect from Reception at a time convenient for yourself.

SAILING EVENTS:

Saturday 13 July we had race 2 of the Winter Double Hander Series. A gentle SE breeze of about 15 knots was blowing and the sun was out. A near perfect warm winters day.

The course was set to sail to Fishhoek and back. The fleet stay closer together till the beat back to Castor, this is where the fleet split and the bigger boats had an upper hand.

All finished with in 40 mins of the first boat.
