Unfortunately this race was blown out.

Saturday 02/12/2017Compass Rose Race.
Compass Rose race was a great success. We had 11 entries. Weather conditions were near perfect for a fast race. There were reports for stronger breeze readings of 35 knots. We had 3 boats enter from Gordon’s Bay Yacht Club. Unfortunately wind was not in their favour and it took them longer to go round the course. Only 1 of the 3 managed to complete the course. First FBYC boat finished at 01:02 and last boat at 07:30. Prize giving will be on Friday 08 December at 19:00.

Dear Members

We are fast approaching a busy festive season.

There are rules set in place for the good of the club and its members. Here are  a few useful reminders.

1. Treat your fellow members and their guests with care and respect.

2. Adhere to the rules of the club.

  1. Please sign your guests in.
  2. Remember to carry your membership card. The Customer Service staff (security) are learning the names and faces of regular members however we would appreciate members using their cards.
  3. Meet your guests at the front gate and sign them into the guest register.
  4. Adhere to the fishing protocols of our marine protected environment.
  5. Please sign out if you are going onto the water. This includes all groups, sailing, ski-boat & fishermen, kayakers & rowers.
  6. Please keep your vessels certified.  COF, Radio license and skippers tickets.
  7. We have an on-consumption liquor licence which means that you cannot bring your own drinks for consumption on the premises.

Lastly but by no means least:  Please help us to save water. 2 minute showers only. Please do not wash your wetsuits in the inside showers this causes blockages, as a great amount of sand gets into a wetsuit. If you see a faulty tap or shower please report it to the office immediately.

This weekend sees the start of a busy festive season.  Help us to make it a happy fun time for all.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
SOP for Hiring of Temporary Contractors:

Dear Members,

In light of the recent serious increase in theft at the club and in compliance with health and safety regulations , all Contractors working on the hard standing and the marinas will be required to wear reflective vests at all times.

All Contractors who are not registered with the club, will have to report to Reception and pay a daily upfront Temporary Contractor’s Fee of R20 per person, per day. No work will commence if this fee is not paid in advance. They are to wear the issued Club Temporary Contractor vest.

Members please note that the club must be informed by email, of all ad-hoc Contractors who are requested by owners to work on their boats. Please include the respective dates when they are required to gain access to the club. Kindly inform your ad-hoc Contractors of this Temporary Contractors fee.

In the instance where an outside Contractor is going to be on site for less than 2 hours to work on your vessel, you may sign that person in. The stipulation is that you have to be present at all times as it will be your responsibility. If we are not notified in advance, the Contractor may be turned away.

We have placed a notice in the Visiting Cruiser’s booklet stating that they are not allowed to bring off-street labour in to work on their boats.

These rules have been put into place to safeguard all Members and Temporary Members, staff and the Club.

Kindly contact Teresa: info@fbyc.co.za if you need further information.
