Dear Members

We welcome Simone Balman as our new Sailing Administrator this month!
We wish her well in this new adventure here with The Team.
Many thanks to Andrew Mackenzie who has faithfully assisted with club sailing over the past few months!  We are fortunate to still have him on the team for a while.

Wednesday: Race 2 of the DHL Twilight series of 5 races – start time 17:45. Forecast: moderate north wester. Flat water – should be good!

WEEKEND RACING SUNDAY

Saturday: Mothers’ (both present and future) Race – Sunday being Mothers’ day – start 14:30. Forecast: either light or fresh south easter depending on which forecast is believed.

Ever wanted to try kayaking?

Well here’s your chance!
Come to the yacht club on Sat 13th May between 10am & 1pm and we will make sure you get a chance to try a kayak for yourself.
Would your children be interested? It is ideal for teenagers; younger children will go in a double with an adult.  Life jackets are compulsory, will be supplied by club.
Come and join us at the Fisherman’s slipway for a fun morning.

What do you need to bring?
A hat or cap, sun tan lotion and something like a takkie to wear on your feet, on the slipway (nothing too clumsy for your feet!)
Remember baggies or shorts and shoes may get wet so bring something dry to change into.
WEATHER DAY:
If the weather is not suitable, the Kayaking Open Day will be moved to the following Saturday 20th May 2017. If the date for the Kayak Open Day has to be changed, it will be announced on Dolphyn Diary in the week prior to Saturday 13th May.

DIVE CLEANUP
SAT 13th May 2017 starting at 08h30
With the weather changing our bay has become increasingly littered with all sorts of unnatural products.
If you are a diver and would like to join in we would love all the help we can get.
Young snorkelers welcome with parent supervision.
Stay and braai afterwards.Please give your name in at the office or email info@fbyc.co.za should you wish to take part.

FISH HOEK LIBRARY – Wednesday evening 17th MAY
Round-the-World sailor and professional yacht-master Paul Rodger’s will speak about his book Sailing to Purgatory, an account of his
final single-handed 8 000 mile journey.This event will be at Fish Hoek Library 5.30 for 6pm on Wednesday 17th May.Refreshment available – wine and snacks.
