MEMBERS, PLEASE TAKE NOTE

Dear Members

Our financial year-end is 30th June and subscriptions for the coming year are due in July.

The General Committee would like to thank members for their ongoing support of the Club over the past year. Although Covid-19 has impacted everyone in the country and it has certainly not been easy for many of us, we are happy to tell you that the Club has survived and continues to operate on a sound footing.

Renewal of Subscriptions:

Member Subscription invoices for the year, 01 July 2022 to 30 June 2023 will be sent out on 1st July 2022 and are due by 1st August 2022.

Due to inflation on the costs of running the club, it is necessary that the coming year’s subscriptions be increased by 6% in line with inflation, in order to cover the increase in the Club’s expenses.
The affiliation fees to SAS will remain the same as for 2021/2022.
The affiliation fees to WPDSAA will increase to R330 for the year.

Early bird discount:
A small discount will be granted to all members paying by 31st July.
Members may, by arrangement with Natasha our GM, request for payment terms to pay by 30th September (3 months).

Resignations:

Kindly note that in terms of the Club’s Constitution, should you not wish to renew your membership, you are obliged to advise the Club (Colleen/Yvonne admin@fbyc.co.za) before the end of June.

If resignations are not received by the end of June, subs billing will automatically take place and will become due and payable. Any resignations received after that date will incur pro-rata subscription fees up to the date of resignation.

Please stay safe, we will see you around the Club!

ROWING

CCRC Rowing
A great morning of activities at our second beach Regatta and sprints at Long Beach a fortnight ago.

This time, in the youthful company of UCT, Sachs, and Peninsula Girls Rowing Club members. All in the midst of our loyal Alfred Rowing Club fine boating friends, who introduced their international friend, 15-year-old Matthis Mueller of Stuttgart Cannstatter Ruderverein Club, here on summer vacation.

Great fun especially for the CCRC coxie, as Matthis set a formidable pace in stroke position, deafened by his Masters' crew puffing and panting in pursuit of the CCRC contenders!

Well done to our brilliant organisers Peter Goosen and Kobus Huisamen who by now have it all down pat with FBYC's Jeffrey and blown-up buoys in tow. Thanks all for making this possible in the early hours of Saturday mornings!

To all participants, timekeepers, photographers, coffee hearts, and all, you did a great job making the best of superb conditions in a world-class location! Here's to a great winter season celebrating with icy swims and lucky strokes in gorgeous conditions.

ENVIRONMENTAL

The April floods in KwaZulu-Natal resulted in the deaths of over 440 people and caused catastrophic damage to infrastructure, but one of the most visible impacts was the massive amounts of litter and other debris washed up along beaches in the area.
