NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
|
FBYC members are hereby notified that the 64th Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held in the Crow’s Nest and online via a Zoom link on Thursday 25th August 2022, at 18h00.
|
The General Committee took a decision to hold the meeting in the Clubhouse and online to allow members the choice to participate online if they prefer.
|
Call for nominations for the General Committee for the year 2022/2023 has started. Note that should you wish to formally nominate any Members to the Committee, you may obtain a nomination form from Colleen / Yvonne admin@fbyc.co.za or call at the office.
|
The deadline for nominations is Friday 5th August 2022.
|
The AGM Agenda, together with the final list of nominees, will be placed on the clubhouse notice board and will appear in the Dolphyn Diary to be sent to all Members on the 11th August 2022. Instructions for the link to the online Zoom meeting will also be included.
|
Please note voting rules in terms of the FBYC Constitution:
|
Voting: Except where otherwise provided in the Constitution, a decision or resolution of the General Committee of the club or of a General Meeting of the members shall be by majority of members in good standing, present and voting, there being no proxy votes allowed. Members under suspension for any reason at the time of voting are not entitled to vote. Members entitled to vote shall be Foundation Members, Ordinary Members, Life Members, Honorary Life Members, Senior Members and Special Members.

In the case of Family Membership, only one vote per family is permitted.
|

A near perfect day greeted the fleet as they bid farewell to the Commadore. Much fun was had and the traditional wetting the Commadore was met with the Commadore’s surprise water gun, which caught many off-guard.

Lipton Cup Challenge
FBYC will be hosting this prestigious event from 17th August to 21st August.

We will be represented by Alan Lawrence, Anthony Wentworth, Mica Burger, Des Steele, Yusuf Sampson, Mathew Wentworth and Kenny Daniels on Nigel Clack’s yacht Avatar.

Notice regarding Subscriptions for the year 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023
|
Thank you to many members who have been making payments for their subs! Payments have been streaming in.
|
A reminder that an early bird discount of 5% of your subs may be deducted by members who are paying by EFT before 31st July 2022. No discount for cash, credit card or cheques, unfortunately.
|
By arrangement with Natasha, fees may be paid over 3 months, in equal amounts.
|
Invoices have been sent to members during the first week of July 2022. If you have not received it, please let us know urgently.
|
Please take note that additional costs will incur between July and September if resignations do not reach us before end July.

Club Dress Code
Smart casual attire. Men may wear short trousers.
|
NB: No bathing costumes or fishing boots allowed, and please wear shoes or sandals.

This applies to the entire 1st floor, including the deck, Thank You.

Liquor licence
The club has an on-consumption liquor licence therefore members and their guests may not bring their own liquor onto the club premises, as this is regarded as an offence in terms of the Liquor Act.
|
We have reviewed the corkage fee facility and it will not be available in the Crow’s Nest Bar upstairs any longer.
|
The facility will still be available when you are ordering from the restaurant downstairs. Arrangements to pay corkage can be set up with Carl when you want to bring your own wines for a function, provided that the wine is not already on the wine list.
|
