Golden Globe
|
|
Jeremy Bagshaw on his yacht Olleana is still making good progress and approaching Cape Horn. He is still in 2nd place in the Chichester Class, with only 7,952 Nautical Miles to go. The other South African entrant, Kirsten Neuschafer, is still in 1st place overall with only 4,905 Nautical Miles to go.

NSRI Station 10
|
FBYC wishes to say thank you to Darren Zimmerman. Darren has stepped down as Station Commander of NSRI Station 10, as of 28th February 2023. Darren has been a member of Sea Rescue for over 31 years and Station Commander for 19 years. Darren’s replacement is Simon McDonnell, with whom he has worked closely for several years. Simon took command on 1st March 2023.
|
We wish Darren all the very best and wish Simon well in his new post. FBYC looks forward to keeping its close association with NSRI Station 10.
|
We will be welcoming Simon, the new NSRI Station 10 Commander, on Friday night, 10th March.
|
|

|
Lawhill Powerboats Skippers Exam
|
FBYC hosted the Lawhill Students who did their Powerboat Skippers Exam on Saturday the 4th of March, followed by a braai at FBYC. The students are sponsored by the General Botha Old Boys’ Association Bursary Fund and the Sail and Motor Program for the students at LMC and Sea Cadets.

We ask that Members please remain vigilant whilst on club premises and on the marinas. There were break-ins reported over the Dec/Jan holiday period, with access gained from the water. Please take precautions to safeguard your assets.
|

Parking on the hard during the week and on weekends
Members and on-site Contractors are to please note the following:
|
|
Parking on the hard will not be allowed during the week or over weekends unless prior
|
permission has been granted by Kim (STMC).
|
|
Off-loading on the hard must be done swiftly and with consideration to boat movements during the week.A designated loading bay is available to members for off-loading next to the clubhouse – a maximum of 30 minutes.
|
|
