NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING:
FBYC members are hereby notified that the 65th Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held in the Crow’s Nest on Thursday 24th August 2023, at 18h00.
|
Call for nominations for the General Committee for the year 2023/2024 has started. Note that, should you wish to formally nominate any Members to the Committee, you may obtain a nomination form from Colleen / Yvonne admin@fbyc.co.za or call at the office.
The deadline for nominations to be submitted is Tuesday 8th August 2023.
|
The AGM Agenda, together with the final list of nominees, will be placed on the clubhouse notice board and will appear in the Dolphyn Diary to be sent to all Members on 10th August 2023.
|
Please note voting rules in terms of the FBYC Constitution:
Voting: Except where otherwise provided in the Constitution, a decision or resolution of the General Committee of the club or of a General Meeting of the members shall be by majority of members in good standing, present and voting, there being no proxy votes allowed. Members under suspension for any reason at the time of voting are not entitled to vote. Members entitled to vote shall be Foundation Members, Ordinary Members, Life Members, Honorary Life Members, Senior Members and Special Members. In the case of Family Membership, only one vote per family is permitted.

NOTICE REGARDING SUBSCRIPTIONS
for the year 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024
Thank you to many members who have been making payment for their subs! Payments have been streaming in.
|
A reminder that an early bird discount of 5% off your SUBS may be deducted by members who are paying by EFT before 31st July 2023.
No discount for cash, credit card or cheques, unfortunately.
By arrangement with Natasha, fees may be paid over 3 months, in equal amounts.
|
Invoices have been sent to members during the first week of July 2023. If you have not received it, please let us know urgently. Please take note that additional costs will incur between July and September if resignations do not reach us before end July.

There was no racing.

Closing Cruise
|
Even though it was a very cold day, an impressive fleet took part in the Closing Cruise. Thank you to all that took the time to come out and to the rowers for your enthusiasm. Also great to see the NSRI out in force.
|
|
After a blustery sail past members were entertained with live music. Much fun was had by all.
|
|

SAFETY AT SEA

Surveys
Philip Lamb, Paul Dennett, and Jeremy Walter are qualified and available to do SAS (COF) surveys on sailing boats. They can be contacted through the Club.
