SAILING

Sailing News

On Wednesday the 4th of August, a few keen sailors hit the water for a Wednesday Twilight Race. Well done to Tommy Madoda and crew aboard Kayo for taking the win! It is so awesome to see our youth sailors out racing regularly and having fun! Second place was Sir Henry and third, Firefly.

Many thanks to Ingrid and Margaret for running the bridge. It’s wonderful to see our ladies getting involved in the bridge again!
Unfortunately, all of the racing scheduled for the weekend had to be cancelled – lack of wind on the Saturday and too much wind on the Sunday!

Many thanks to Hedley Prince for being available to man the bridge for Sunday’s race.

Rheece has been joining Tommy onboard Kayo and continues to produce awesome illustrations of his learning! Many thanks http://rheecemoonjava.art/

Looking to the week ahead, there is a Twilight Race planned for Wednesday evening. This will hopefully be the last time that we will be using the old ORC ratings to calculate the results.
On Saturday there is a Ladies Day Race planned – start 14:30 – please do have a lady on the helm if you can!

In an effort to give back, we will be collecting handbags and toiletries to donate to Rape Crisis.
Please bring whatever you can donate along on the day or drop off any donations at Yvonne’s office during office hours.

Thank you ladies for paying it forward!

Please also note that looking at the long-term forecast,
it may be necessary to postpone the race to Sunday.
