CCRC - Alfred Rowing Club Regatta

Great fun and games last Sunday at our annual regatta at Long Beach, Simon's Town.

Superb organising by committee members, led by our vice-captain Peter Goosen, of Cape Coastal Rowing Club, and Alfred Rowing Club, our flatwater counterparts based at Seekoeivlei Yacht Club. Your hard work made for a fabulous day of light-hearted competition in idyllic conditions.

Impressive times were recorded in the ladies, mens, and mixed quads and double sculls. Our final men's quad race produced an awesome performance of CCRC beating ARC by three minutes. Well done boys in the boat, with Peter Thompson who cracked the whip over Ivan, Kobus, Pieter, and PeteG.

We saw motivation of a different kind from all the other passionate coxswains, who with their tenacious crews finished the grueling 4km course with smiles! Hats off to all the double crews who completed the same course, particularly those who raced in both races.

Thank you all our supporters, and False Bay Yacht Club, our rock stars for enabling a memorable day between our two clubs, as we continue to grow Coastal Rowing, unlimited goodwill, and camaraderie in our communities. All this amid COVID, fresh sea air, and beauty abound! See you on the water!

Best wishes from all of us at CCRC
