South Africa's Neuschäfer named female 2023 Rolex World Sailor of the Year
15 November 2023 – SA Sailing have sent their congratulations to Kirsten Neuschäfer after the Gqeberha sailor was named female 2023 Rolex World Sailor of the Year at the prestigious awards ceremony in Malaga, Spain last night.
Neuschäfer was chosen out of a shortlist of four finalists, all nominated by leading figures in the sailing world, after writing her name into the history books by becoming the first woman to finish first in the solo Golden Globe Race, a journey around the world reliant on no modern technology. She also came to the rescue of a fellow sailor during the course of the event.

Greetings, Anglers!
Safe and responsible boating depends on care, courtesy and common sense.
Fellow members please see the FBYC launching ramp rules and good manners.
The red area is a no stopping area. Please load up ice and get your boat ready in the blue area or car park before driving into the red area to begin reversing down the ramp.
Two boats can launch simultaneously, so do not put your rig in the centre of the ramp.
The green area is for vehicles to exit ramp and boats ready to launch (right of way to vehicles leaving). Please be considerate
Please do not spend longer than 5 minutes at the jetty during heavy traffic times. Tie up sensibly, not right in the middle if you are the only boat.
Please make sure you only park in correct lanes, not across lanes or skew into other lanes.
Do not compromise your launching rights and let's make sure we all follow these guidelines.
