ORC Certificates
It’s coming up to that time of year again when the ORC Certificates have to be renewed. An email has been sent out to all those that have a current certificate to confirm if you want to continue. I have received many replies but there are still a few outstanding. Please note that the club will pay half the fee on condition that you race in a minimum of six races a year. Please be advised that if you require any re-measuring, that there is a cost for this that must be paid to the measurer, and you should arrange this with one of the official ORC measurers.

For those wanting to join in the racing and do not have an ORC Certificate, you can contact an ORC Measurer (names available on the SA ORC webpage) to get your boat measured. There is a cost for the measuring, but your first ORC Certificate is free of charge.

Billy Liesegang is stepping down as our local FBYC ORC measurer.

Racing Marks – Our new racing marks, together with the new lights should be in place for the first race of 2024.

SAFETY AT SEA

Philip Lamb and Paul Dennett are qualified and available to do SAS (COF) surveys on sailing boats. Paul Dennett can now do LGSC surveys. They can be contacted through the Club.

Dear Members,

We hope this message finds you well. As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the community experience, we would like to bring to your attention a few important guidelines regarding the use of our braai area and the consumption of alcohol on-site.

1. Booking for Club Facilities / Braai Area:
To ensure that everyone has a fair opportunity to enjoy our communal braai area, we kindly request all members to make a courtesy booking in advance. This helps us manage the space efficiently and ensures a pleasant experience for everyone. Booking can be done through the admin office, if you would like to book for a party of up to 20 persons.
Please be mindful of your fellow members.

2. Alcohol Policy:
In an effort to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment, we would like to remind all members that bringing personal alcoholic beverages on-site is strictly prohibited. We have a fully stocked bar that offers a variety of drinks for your enjoyment. The Club has an On-Consumption Liquor Licence.

Please support our Club community by making use of the on-site bar facilities. This policy is in place to ensure the well-being and comfort of all members and guests. If you have any specific requests or preferences for the bar, feel free to reach out to the management team, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
