Sailing Results:

Wednesday Autumn Twilight Series Race 1 of 10 - A near perfect race happened we had 9 boats entered and completed the race, wind stayed steady and all boats were back before dark. It was great seeing a new mix of boats out on the water with a nice shuffle in the race results.

Youth Sail Training

Saturday morning, true to the forecast, there was no wind. Which allowed us to complete our CoF and take a sail with Dave Staniforth on his boat "Pellicano" (Picture below) Thank you Dave for sharing your boat and knowledge with our students.

Lawhill Maritime School's L26 'Homero' went for her maiden voyage on Friday afternoon as many many months of work being done on her - she will now be part of our training programme with the Lawhill Maritime students. (Picture below)

Many of us see this iconic landmark every day but few know the history behind it. Click HERE (or on the image) to read more about the only lighthouse in South Africa to stand on a rock.

Reminder for Kayakers & Surfskiers:
Informal paddle, Saturday 7 April at 10am on the water

The 'First Saturday of every month' paddle happens at 10am on the water at the slipway closest to the kayak racks.
  • This is very informal, a chance to ask questions, get more familiar with your kayak or surf ski and paddle with a group if you are not able to get on the water too frequently.
  • You must be a member of FBYC, must have your own kayak, a life jacket and preferably have a safe place to keep your cell phone.
From the 7th March we will be opening every Wednesday evening. This will be the a-la-carte menu plus a delicious selection of curries.

There will be a Gunnery Firing Exercise for learners on Weapons Operator course at Lower North Battery on following dates and times:
13 - 15 March 2018 from 08:30 - 16:00.
16 March 2018 from 08:30 - 16:00.

Pet owners are advised to take precautionary measures.
