SEVERE STORM WARNING
Please can all boat owners ensure that their boats are securely moored in anticipation of the storm due to make landfall on Tuesday evening.
Swells are predicted to reach over 10m and wind gusts close to 60 knots during the course of Wednesday.
New addition to the Team:
We welcome Linsay Oberholzer as our part-time Sailing Manager! We wish her well in this new adventure here with The FBYC Team.
FBYC SAILING:
On Saturday 03 June, Andrew Mackenzie ran a “Race with a difference”. Winds were blowing North Westerly 25 – 35 knots, this didn’t seem to put off the 5 entries we had, they all rushed out the bar at 14h00 to make the 14h30 start. Unfortunately, the fleet went round different markers and we ended up with no race results, however prizes were given to each boat for braving the winds and sticking to the name “Race with a difference”. Due to the severe storm from Tuesday night to Thursday afternoon, winds will reach full gale force (F9-10) and seas exceeding 10m on Wednesday there will be no racing.
This Saturday is the Double Hander starting at 14h30. Long term weather forecast is 8-16 knots moderating WSW, perfect for an afternoon out in the bay. I am looking forward to seeing you all out on the water soon.

Quiz Night Winners – the OTHER TEAM
Message from the team:
“Thanks for the opportunity to participate in another fun-filled Quiz Evening.
‘The Other Team’ really enjoyed themselves once again, and managed to win overall, in spite of being soundly beaten a couple of times, especially on the last evening!
Heather did the club proud with her catering as usual and the bar staff were kept busy.”
