The walk-on marina moorings, the slipping and hard standing facilities are managed by the SIMON’S TOWN MARINA COMPANY. (STMC – a non-profit company) The members of this company consist only of FBYC members who own a marina.STMC is presided over by a Board of Directors (min 3 – max 6) who meet every month or two. The staff consists of the manager, an administrator and three driver/assistants. The Marina office is situated in the bungalow between the Neptune’s Galley Restaurant and the NSRI Station 10. Office and slipway hours are weekdays, 8:30 to 17:00.

Visitors to STMC and FBYC are welcome, but must take out temporary membership of the False Bay Yacht Club in order to avail themselves of the club and marina facilities.

Prospective members wanting to buy or rent moorings must first make membership arrangements before they may take possession of any mooring.

Although the marina has a total of over 250 berths, most of them are privately owned. The STMC owns 10 marinas and co-owns another 7. Thus our facilities for visitors are restricted. However, we also manage a number of the private marinas and with these combinations can accommodate a fair number of visitors.

We know that when traveling by sea and sail, arrival and departure times are difficult to predict with any accuracy, but PLEASE contact us in advance, preferably by completing the On-Line Mooring Enquiry, or faxing the form which will give us all the necessary details. We will confirm receipt and allocate you a berth if available.

PLEASE KEEP US INFORMED of your progress if you are going to be early or late, it helps a great deal towards accommodating everyone.

Floating Walk-on Marina

There are 242 privately owned marinas. From time to time marinas come onto the market for sale or rental, details can be obtained from the marina office.

The STMC has 5 berths available for yachts up to a maximum of 22m or 20 Ton.

All marinas have 220v electrical power and fresh water is close at hand.

The yacht club and marina are protected by CCTV, access tags and 24hr guards.

Slipway and Hard Standing

The hard standing area can accommodate approximately 13 boats with the necessary stands and props.

Hard standing rates are calculated per sq M footprint and escalate weekly. Alternately, for extended stays a fixed price can be negotiated.

  • Boats are removed from the water by means of a sling lift
  • The sling lift has a capacity of 15M x 4M beam and 16Ton
  • Power and water are available on site, there is a chandlery and an assortment of marine sub-contractors.
